Ashley & Waylon!

Not too long ago we had a competition for a free engagement session! Man – that was fun! We got to read all of your stories about how you got engaged and we had a blast enjoying all of your romances! While every story was wonderful and unique, we had to pick only one! This story stood out because of the amount of effort Waylon put into his proposal and the obvious joy that Ashley displayed in her story! Congratulations you two!

A while back Waylon and I were talking about getting married, and I had mentioned that it meant a lot that my family was there when it happened. So, yes ladies and gentlemen Waylon Buchan proposed. Last night (march 4th) we went to see a couple of our favorite bands (Emery, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, A Static Lullaby and The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus) with Eric and Melissa. I have been pretty excited about this show. So the four of us are standing there enjoying the show, when Waylon says to me, “hey guess what?! Boni got us backstage passes!” I was like “OMG NO WAY” So we ran up there, Waylon walks right onto stage, and the lead singer of A Static Lullaby handed him the microphone. I was thinking…wait… what is going on?!! Waylon gestures for me to follow, hesitantly I did (a little nervous to be on stage) he starts talking to the crowd says “Ashley and I have known eacthother for about 5 years now, and we have been goin’ strong ever since, it was love at first sight, and if there is a such thing as soul mates, I know that she is mine, so *gets on one knee* Ashley will you marry me?!” Of course my answer is yes but I was too busy crying to say so, so I nodded and the whole crowd erupted in cheers, and the band started to play my favorite song. So we walked off stage and Boni is standing there bawling (I love her) and Waylon says, hey we have to go, your Mom, brother and sister in law are standing in the back waiting for us, and I pretty much lost it…he remembered… All the way back everyone I saw was congratulating us and givin’ Waylon high-fives, then I saw my fam, my brother was a bit teary eyed, and my mom had obviously been crying (see where I get it) Sarah came out…it was late, and she is very pregnant, she is amazing. Eric and Melissa cheering and being so awesome, and nothing but genuinly happy for us…. I am so lucky.
